Why We Do What We Do

Being a blessing to the nations of the world

Then saith Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve – Matt. 4:10.

But the hour cometh, and now is when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth –John 4:23-24.

Then some Levites… stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with very loud voices –2 Chron. 20:19.
After this, I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb –Rev. 7:9.
Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord. Ye that stands in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good; sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant –Psalm 135:1-3.

O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph –Psalm 47:1.

Thus will I bless thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in thy name –Psalm 63:4. Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord Psalm 134:2.
I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting –I Tim. 2:8.

I will praise the Lord while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being –Psalms 146:2.
By him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name –Heb. 13:15.

And they were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance –Acts 2:4.
I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. –I Cor 14:15.

And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that is in them –Acts 4:24.

And all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Herman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music. –2 Chron 5:12-13.
